This film is part of my project titled Reflect-Imagine-Create: Meditations on Education, which was part of Carnegie Mellon's Thesis Exhibition.

Through the creation of this film, I reflected on my educational experiences, and the ways that this experience has shaped me into the person I am now. The film consists of three parts. The first part is about my early education in school and outside of it and how learning was an act of joy during this time. The second part focuses on the institutionalization of my education from middle school to college and how the joy of learning was destroyed by the dominance of standardized tests and a focus on grades above all else. The final part of the film occurs over the past two years and shows how I underwent a process of unlearning and questioning of my own education in order to rediscover the joy of learning.
